Not sure what you mean the Disco 2 has a wiring block fitted on my car behind the rear right side light cluster, I just needed to by a Land rover trailer light plug and attache it to my tow ball the pass the trailer cable up inside the right side of the bumper and it plugged straight in no joints to make
not sure what you mean by brake controller, ?

See the information on connector C1481 in the RAVE manual for the Discovery 2. This connector is located behind the right tail light assembly. It should be possible to source a standard 7-pin harness to plug into that, or wire one yourself. A brake controller could be mounted in the same area as part of the harness.

Why not do a Google search for "trailer brake controller"? It's a pretty common thing.

A brake controller really doesn't have anything to do with the vehicle. It's associated with the hauled weight of the trailer.

My '04 came with this installed, the gray plug was connected to the tail in the cavity behind the passenger tail light cluster. I assumed that the orange red and blue wires would be used for trailer brakes, and that you'd need to furnish your own trailer brake controller. There doesn't seem to be a place to connect them to in square box, but I know very little about his sort of thing. I'd like to know more if someone else has any info.

Actually trailer brake controllers have been around longer than 20 years. They used to hook into the brake hydraulic line off the master cylinder to activate the electric trailer brakes. My grandfather had one in his 1978 Buick Electra because he pulled a 34 foot camper. Now they use accelerometers to send the power.

Anyway I an wonder the same thing. Our 2014 Ranger Rover already has the 7 pin installed but is the harness to hook up to the controller under the dash somewhere?
