Use Gasket sealer on throttle body heater rubber gasket?
Just watched the Atlantic British video on replacing the throttle body heater plate and gasket. When reassembling he uses "High Tack" gasket sealant.
Seems like sealant shouldn't be needed on a rubber gasket.
Suggestions?

Thanks,... guess I missed that you don't really need it.
Mine was not leaking when I did my intake manifold gasket, but I went ahead and "refreshed" it since it came in the kit. Started leaking less than a year later, so the second time I covered the gasket with a very thin layer of Blue Hylomar. That was about three years ago; no leaks yet.

I properly bypassed all my D2 Throttle Body Heater Plates, and removed it completely from the throttle body zero leaks, zero worries!!! I've owned plenty of V8's made around the same time period from Jeep's to GM, and Ford products and not a single one of them had coolant going to the throttle body! You don't hear about them sticking in cold weather either.
I think it's overkill in my book and even a working and non leaking Throttle Body Heater Plate still has the chance of leaking or causing serious damage due to the weak and brittle OEM hard lines breaking.

Ha! I only used RTV on mine. I didn't see any point in the gasket. It hasn't leaked now for 2, maybe 3 years.
Personally, I use some type of sealant on every gasket I install. I consider it cheap insurance.
