Default Using 4.6 front driveshaft on 4.0

Anyone using a 4.6 driveshaft (03-04) on a 4.0 (99-02)

I think the only difference is overall length -- ie 4.6 is either longer or shorter. Anyone?

I should clarify. My position up to this point has been "it doesn't matter"... just wondering if anyone has wisdom otherwise.

RAVE says
On vehicles from 03 model year fitted with the 4.6l V8 engine and 4HP24 transmission, the front propeller shaft is 15
mm (0.6 in) longer and the rear propeller shaft is 15mm (0.6 in) shorter than those used on vehicles with the 4.0l V8
and Td5 engines. This is to accomodate an increase in length of the 4HP24 transmission.

I can't say for certain, but I do know that if a driveshaft is too long and you hit full suspension compression it'll stab the driveshaft hard into the transfer case and diff and break things. Is 0.6" enough to cause problems? I don't know and I'd hate to personally find out. If you have a suspension lift it'd probably be just fine to run the longer driveshaft because the lift draws it further out on the slip joints. On a stock Disco, my 2¢ is to run what is supposed to be there.
