Default V I C T O R Y - my 2002 has a CDL transfer case installed from the factory

SO stoked. I was just about to order a 2004 CDL TC off eBay and in a moment's hesitation thought to myself... what if... what if there happens to be one installed already? Odds are slim since Brady is a 2002. Went outside, double checked the production date, and though it's a MY 2002, it was produced in September of 2001. My hopes rose... I crawled under, reached up past the u-joint, and felt that sweet sweet CDL post sticking proudly up. Really excited that I don't have to a) buy a new TC, but even more so, b) install it.

I guess the next step is to either source a 2004 handle and linkage? Or get this Lucky8 kit? https://www.lucky8llc.com/collection...se+ac2-cdl-kit

Congrats. If you are patient a CDL linkage will come up on eBay and it will actually be an auction, I got mine for $137 a few weeks ago. If you want new go LRdirect. They are across the pond but much cheaper than Lucky8 and it’s the same part. Comes to $238 USD and shipping is reasonable. I’ve ordered plenty.

I want it now, lol. In that link there's the replacement and britpart parts. Price difference seems immaterial, which one would be better?

Dear God. Don't pay $500+. Another guy on here had a thread in the last few days about installing an electrical mechanism to engage CDL. It cost him <$100.

The benefit of that L8 part is that it eliminates the 2004 solenoid, but my solenoid is actually bad anyway, so I think I might opt to use the 2004 solenoid in the linkage.

i would go ahead and turn the nipple just to confirm that it functions correctly before you take the next step.

Got a wrench on it and didn't put much pressure on it, but was able to get it moving fore and aft.

They are the same part, I emailed them before I won the one I have on eBay. One price is for 2 or more and the higher price is for 1.

When you turned the stud, did the X wing fighter mode light come on in cluster? I have a factory CDL shifter out of a 04, $250.00, plus shipping.

Also, 50% of sale goes to Wounded Warriors Project.

Brian.
