Default valves vs. pistons

Anybody really know the answer to this question?

If a timing chain on a 4.0 v8 2000 Disco broke and the cam stopped, would the valves hit the pistons or is there clearance?

There is plenty of clearance.
It is a low compression engine.

the term you are searching for is "interference engine"
