Default Vibration and Amigos

So we have put about 2k miles on our 2002 after buying it 2 months ago and have finally taken it on the highway.
Where I live the speed limit never exceed 45mph. To be on the safe side I went and got the wheels balanced before heading out.

Once I reached the first 55 Zone I discovered the car has a vibration and noise at around 60mph and beyond. It feels like the rear right, but that could be the sound from the drivers position.
I stuck to 56-59 the whole trip. About halfway there I slowed down to stop at a gas station and got the 3 amigos.

Noone in town can read it. Are these two related?

I am thinking the noise and vibration is from the rear hub being bad which eventually triggered the ABS, TCS, etc.

Does this sound right?

the ride quality improved after wheel balancing but the tires are still sort of loud with the windows down and the ride is mediocre at best. Idk if I should assume the old shocks and solid axles are the cause, or if these tires are bad.
There is no visible wear pattern on them, they are the right size, and have good tread life.

thanks all

I have you thought of drive shafts? If someone has rebuilt a prop shaft without noting the correct position of the parts before they disassembled it, it can do that.

If you can lift the wheel off the ground and check for play or resistance you might be able to locate the problem. You must also inspect your front driveshaft.

There is no play in the rear wheels and the PO had the driveshaft replaced up front. I just replaced the flex coupling and marked its place when I did so.

Maybe I should remove the front driveshaft and look for any difference in feel to check its balance?

You can't drive a 2002 disco without the front driveshaft.

The front wheels won't just free spin?

Without a center diff lock, you'll just sit there and rev the engine.

oh okay.

Well anyway, if the ABS is on, shouldn't that mean it's local to one of the wheels?

i think your right bad hub, killing the speed sensor attached to it, shuts off the abs.
