Default Voltage, M S lights, and im confused.

So i was having trouble starting up, slower and slower to start, and sounding like a dying battery. I had it testing by having the battery hooked up to a machine at auto zone. They said it was the starter. I pulled the starter, and they said it was good and it was the battery. I still have my rover apart, don't ask why i had to pull the passenger side manifold, lol. I have purchased a new battery but i was wondering if there is anything else i could check while i have potentially easier access to see if it is a voltage problem that is making my M and S lights come on. I already have plugs, wires, o2 sensors, MAF, and all the gaskets, studs, and nuts that i had to remove on order. Any other recommendations or possible solutions for my M S problems. Thankyou!

It was your bad(low voltage battery) that made those lights flash. Its a Rover thing. But if you search in the owners manual it is in there. I drove home for 1hr to the autoparts store. Changed the battery in 20degree cold parking lot and no more flashing lights.(Free battery under warranty) Your voltage should be about 13.3V when idling. Below 10.4 volts on the the battery will not crank over the starter. A volt meter is a good tool to keep in your rear cargo bin.

Also clean the battery terminals and check the ground straps on the engine block - make sure they all make good contact.

This is typical with all ABS systems. It is the one computer that will set a code for low voltage. This comes in handy when trying to diagnose mystery problems in other computers.
