Default W.W.W. (Warn Winch Wiring)

Hello all, long time no post.

I will soon be mounting and wiring my Warn X8000i, 8000 lb. winch onto my 1999 Discovery, series 1.
I know that the Red cable obviously goes directly to the battery but what about the black ground wire.
Is there a particular place on the chasis or frame that is best??

I would appreciate any comments on this.

Cheers & beers,

Undertaker

Last winch I installed both cables went directly to the battery.

As already stated, for the "Best" performance, wire it directly to the battery Earth

Well, I was going to look up how much current that winch draws, but Warn and completely screwed up their site. It used to be really easy to find operator manuals.
Anyway, see what the current draw is compared to the cable size. They are often too small. If it draws 400 amps at full load, I'd switch from #2 to #1 cable.
