Default Wabco ABS module making strange noise under hood?

2000 Disco II. 148.000 miles. there is a faint sound coming from my ABS module This is with the key not even in the ignition. It sounds kinda like a car alarm when I put my ear near the ABS unit. Is this sound normal? when I disconnect the battery the noise stops I put the negative cable to the battery back on and there is no.. noise coming from the ABS module, great. I open the drivers side door and the ABS unit starts making the noise again... I close the door and the sound still continuous tell I disconnect the battery about 30 mins later. Any idea's whats going on our if this is normal?

This sound is normal and harmless. I have the same noise as well. I thought I read someplace there is a fix for this, a BCU update.

UPDATE: By harmless I mean could drain your battery after a couple weeks

Sorry it was an update for the SLABS ECU. The problem is that it does not shutdown the ECU once the key is removed and could drain your battery if you leave you vehicle for a while. I cant seem to find it either, but I do recall it being mentioned on here someplace.

Mine does that too.
Faint buzz.

When that happens, put the key in the ignition.
Crank the starter for a fraction of a second.

Remove the key.
Noise is usually gone after this procedure.

If you leave it in that state - may burn out.
Not sure - but not good!

pizzes me off - royal.

Our does the same thing and we have the "Three Amigos" so when I fix that issue with rewiring the the ABS module I hope that it goes away. Could this be a short of some type?

My module also makes that high pitched "interference" sound even after performing the Tres Amigos fix.

Its sounds like a pretty good amount of interference to be running the hole time while the Disco's off. I would think it would just wear something out along with the battery. There has to be someone that know's how to fix the problem?
