Luckily the water I went through was only up to the bottom of the doors this week during the floods. The damn thing started to die on me again like the one time I posted about the deep puddle (and someone else had it recently). I'm pretty sure the issue is a break in the intake somewhere that is allowing water in. Good thing I took it easy. If the Tahoe behind me made it and I died out I would have been pissed

There are two Special Forces groups (the 19th and the 20th) in the National Guard.

Clearly, these guys are not in either group.

Also, the fording depth of every vehicle in the military is prominently displayed in both the TM (kind of like an operator's manual) and usually in the vehicle somewhere. Those jokers should have known better.

Snafu.....that was me haha I did discover the cause I believe. I'm missing the inside plastic wheel well cover from from the dirver's front wheel well. As the tire spun it must have throw water into unprotected wing and then the intake sucked it in. Only a theory.

LMTV's are not designed for high water. The engine management computer is in the batter box just aft of the cab and about 3 feet off the ground. That is all the water you want to go in with one of these. They are diesel.

Had it been an old 5 Ton they would still be going. Move the computer and battery box higher in the LMTV and you have a capable vehicle.

Cheers

I guess they don't build them like they used to.
