Clogged nozzle, frozen nozzle, frozen fluid in line, pinched line...

It was doing it in the warm weather so I'll assume it's not frozen. I'll take the hose off before the nozzle and check that.

The pump is up under the l/f bumper, how can you be hearing it? Have you actually crawled under to make sure the pump is pumping?

procedure goes like this:
1. engine off, ignition on.
2. engage rear window washer/wiper
3. driver side door open (that is the left door for you poor devils that drive on the wrong side of the road)

I can hear the pump (inside left front fender) running. The rear window wiper is on. There does not appear to be any leaks on the ground, where the hose might be broken or perforated. I may need to remove the hose at the rear wiper to see if fluid is making it that far.

Have you actually crawled under to make sure the pump is pumping?
No, because I could hear it running. It may not be pumping, but it is making a sound like a pump motor.

Thanks for the help.

Just a thought on this, not my Rover but our other car has both front and rear washers and the pump for the rear is higher up in the fluid resivour than the pump for the front. Is the resivour completely full? Just a thought.

Pull the line from the rear washer pump motor, it is probably plugged up.

Default Same problem

Just had the same issue. The pump was fine. It turned out to be a failure in the feed tubing at the rear door junction.

The first pic shows the removed rubber cover. The second picture shows the failure in the fluid tube (the white bits are the threads inside the tube that are exposed at the failure point). I installed a plastic coupler to fix the issue.

Thanks for the pics. I have the same issue so now I'll know where to start looking.

If the failure is at the door, then the leaking fluid will drain back into the interior behind the adjacent vent. Check that area for dampness first.
