Default Water in oil

Hello,, i did work for a buddy on his 02 Discovery II. Replaced the head gaskets, had the heads resurfaced, new head bolts and torqued to specs. Ok now the problem, after about 6 weeks started putting water in the oil. What could be the problem, used new composite head gaskets. Local guy is taunting, told my buddy to "have your mechanic try and fix it,,whenhe can'tbring it to me". What does he know that I NEED TO KNOW? The head gaskets were blown,,leaking coolant to the outside, and the heads needed resurfaced. It was putting coolant in the oil prior to replacing the gaskets. Whatdo i check, or need to replace?

could be either. did you check to make sure that the block wasnt warped when you had the heads off? could also be a front cover gasket leaking internally

FYI I was on royal purple web sit today and was watching a video on how they test their oil, what they do is heat up a pan to 200 deg and put three drops of oil, if it splats or pops it has water in the oil.

if its the block, you need an engine, some places will machine it, but youre looking at a big expence there... not to scare you though... as to the front cover, yes, cooland goes through it to get the the water pump, if it is a little warped or has a failed gasket on the inside, coolant can get into the oil easily, no real way to check it other then pullin it off, but thats really where youre at with any of the gaskets
