There is an extra plug on the front cover just above the factory pressure switch that taps you into the oil circuit. You remove this plug and will need to install an adapter to accept the transducer threading which is I think 1/4 NPT. Can't remember the size of the adapter for sure. Or some people will drill and tap that plug for the 1/4 NPT which would work.

Let me start by saying i hate giving bad reviews but.......If I was to do it again I would personally go with a mechanical gauge for oil psi. I know some people have said their glowshift gauges have worked for years, but I think quality control has fallen at glowshift over those years.

I installed the glowshift tinted gauges for temp and oil and they didn't last 6 months. I've run plenty of gauges on other things (tons of farm equipment and big trucks) so I'm confident my installing was not the issue.

But for two products from the same company to fail in 6 months, I just can't recommend them due to poor durability. That's all before mentioning I paid extra for longer wire I didn't receive and customer service was of no service to me for any of my issues.

I highly recommend mechanical gauges if at all possible. There's no worry of any electrical issues causing false readings.
Also analog is better for things that don't require fine readings. Clock the correctly and you don't even really need to read them to know things are good. Or bad, as the case may be.

sandwich adaptor is easiest take 10 minutes, no drilling, tapping, plugs or reducers, just unscrew the filter, screw on the sandwich plate, add a new filter.

I wouldn't bring oil into the cabin using a mechanical gauge for fear of a line rupture and hot oil being released inside the truck.

I've used Glowshift gauges in both my D2 and have never had a problem with failure over 4 years.

There are many makes of gauges of course so pick one that you feel is the best purchase.

Well, I've mostly used Smiths, but that was mainly because they were Land Rover OEM.
I have a few of these 52mm gauges (though with the dual gauge there's no reason to clock them)

Well, in 40 years of using them never had one rupture. Plus the lines are so small even if one did you wouldn't get a lot of oil out of it.

that's a nice gauge, Antichrist. and good to hear on 40yr no oil spill. I was curious about that, as I ran my hose through the firewall, last night.
i went sunpro, cause that is what pep boys had.

I'm just saying... A little leak can make a huge mess and I had this happen on a 69' camaro I once had. Rather replace a transducer then spray coolant or oil on my wife, well on the other hand maybe I should go Mechanical.

Just a quick follow up. I ended getting the ultra-gauge and a glowshift oil pressure gauge. I will follow up again after installation. Thanks to all that added the 2 cents/
