Doesn't even touch. I was thinking there'd be some interference. Didn’t seem to matter - the lip sticks up high enough to keep water from pouring over the edge and into the opening, while channeling it to the sides.
Had a slight leak under severe testing with garden hose. Can’t have it! Not on a 2004 all weather vehicle.
I upped the ante with a different type of edge “flap” seal.
I used the same edge seal to replace the cowl to windshield seal that came on the new cowl. Much better contact, more pressure, and surface area. I just hope it holds up to the environment as time goes on.
I’ll test it as soon as I get the new brakes on and sorted.

@Tony Luna thanks for the offer, looks like a bad seal the top so far. Which mean I just need a warmish couple of dry days, in Vancouver BC, in Nov to get some sealant under there

Haven't tested it yet - but I think its going to work better than the last stuff I tried. Plus, pretty encouraged with how it may improve the cowl to windshield seal.
