Default Waterproof doors?

Is there a way to make the doors on the Disco2 more watertight? i did a quick, but deep watercrossing last weekend, and water came in real easily. not enough to get mad, only came in 1" past the plastic sill strip. Just seemed odd that it would come in so easily.

My weatherstripping isnt dried out or cracked or anything. but the seam from the factory is at the bottom, which is stupid IMO, if i seal the seam, would it probably still leak? Just wanted to see what other people did with this issue. thanks

Nope, thats just the way it is on the DII.
And just a FYI, the computer for the transmission is under the driverseat, if it gets wet you are dead in the water, literally.
Happened to a friend of mine, he was offroading his DII, drove in deep water, water rushed in like it was the Titanic, trans computer got wet, truck would not move, it sat in 3ft of water all night until he could get help towing it out.
Removed the trans computer, opened it, dried it, still no go.
Bought a used one for like $25, put it in and back on the road.
So my advice would be to buy another used trans computer and keep it in a Zip-Loc bag in the glove box.

in all seriousness if they are in good shape you should take on water pretty slowly. i have done some pretty deep water crossings. this one it was completely dry. in fact the next hole was a little deeper and i had water come up thru the console and nothing thru the doors.

if you have water pouring in from your sunroof. that means you are upside down in a lake...then you better hope you didnt weld the doors shut.

My sunroofs don't leak, knock on wood, but they are notorious for leaking during heavy rains.
