Default Weak oil pressure numbers?

I just got done doing a ton of work on my truck (heads, bearings, front cover) and I also installed an oil pressure guage as well. The gauge was verified as acurate by a LR specialty shop using a mechical guage so what I'm seeing in the truck is acurate. My question is are the following numbers ok:

At startup
- Idle 39 (1250 rpms)
- 2000 rpms 41

When warmed up
- Idle 15 (750 rmps)
- 2000 rpms 39

Not too concerned about the idle pressures but more so when at speed. It seems that no matter how hard I gun the throttle I can't get any higher than 41 PSI and that seems low.

This ok?

Thanks!

It is low, but ok. Install a gauge if you are nervous about it..

What weight oil are you running and is it full synthetic?

As I mentioed above I have the gauge already installed so I can keep an eye on it.
I switched out everything in the engine that would have an impact on oil pressure except for the rear seal and rear main bearing and the cam bearings.
I'm currently running 15w40 and will switch to 20w50 which shouldn't be a problem in Southern CA.

Thanks

20w50 dino is too thick, stick with the 15w40 HDEO or switch to a synthetic 5w40 like Rotella T6 or mobil 1 TDT. If you want to try a thicker oil stick with mobil 1 15w50. It is a thinner 50w and is available in 5quarts jugs for $22 at walmart. I believe your numbers are fine btw. What pressure gauge setup are you using?

I wouldn't run anything higher than 10W40. The oil will be thick at startup and the pump won't prime with it.

Your oil pump is already primed, unless you were to drain it.

I dont think 20w50 would be to thick for SoCal.
I used it (Castrol Syntec 20w-50 changed it every 5k) year around in my Montero from its very first oil change (I bought it brand new) until I got rid of it 100k later and never had a single oil related problem and I live in MI.
Come to think of it, I never had ANY problem with that truck.

I think your oil PSI numbers are fine.

The pressure gauge I'm using is the same one in the thread showing how to install a pressure gauge found on this site. Looks good and is very accurate. I believe it's made by cyberdine but double check the thread.

Thanks for the input!
