Weird temperatures air/heat/idle

that old system had me so paranoid that I never took my eyes off of the temp readout. And on top of that, I made sure my aux fan was still turning on and that's when I noticed that my coolant temps didnt come down with the smaller fan. its a joke. lack of size, power? IDK
That's how I've felt. Especially with summer creeping in I find myself checking the temp so often it's a huge distraction and stresses me out. Time to do the inline mod!

I'm not saying that you will quit referencing your coolant temps altogether, but at least you won't ever see it hit 200F again.

The way I see it, the system is either healthy or it's not. Meaning, after I replaced my head gasket, the radiator hoses, the t-stat, the water pump, the reservoir tank, the brittle return hoses with new rubber ones, and a new radiator (not all at once, but over 2 years), and finally bled and re-bled the system - I have to have some level of confidence that my system is in check. I am not losing any coolant and so I will hook up the OBD-II gauge every 3-4 days and run it. (I plan to get an ultra-gauge soon).
If the cooling system has gremlins you have to chase them all down and fix them, but at some point you have to either be happy that you have it all worked out, or stress every time you drive. I choose the former. :-)

I hear that. Get the bypass loop out of there, run bottom radiator hose straight to the water pump Wye and put an inline Tstat on the top like you are wanting to do. its the only way to go.
I replaced everything in my cooling system as well. the water pump, overflow tank, and top hose tee all went out in the first month I owned it so everything got replaced. I still don't trust it even though its as good as new.
