Smile Weirdly Reliable?

Anyone else's Discos been strangely reliable recently? Haven't had any issues with mine for 4 months now. Maybe its being sympathetic with the gas prices recently.😅

I drove mine every day for 6 months and she ran perfectly still does, needs a new rear transfer case output shaft seal but that is just age. Look after them, deal with stuff as it shows up and they are not any worse than anything else their age.

Both the D2 and P38 have been working beautifully as DD’s for months. In winter I rely on them to both work well. Soon time to put my wife’s Mustang back on the road for the summer.

Well now that you recognized it, it will leak or break

Nearly 20 years of LR ownership and 23 LR's to date and not one has left me for dead. Small issues here and there are normal with any vehicle. Treat em right & get a good one to begin with and sit back and enjoy driving a truly unique vehicle on & off road.

I read here once that you have to leave one thing broken or have one repair to do or it will totally blow up.

But I have to say, 4 months is pretty impressive. I’m on about a month of mine sitting while I figure out the cooling system (and the deep freeze ends).

My latest issue with the XD (last weekend) was from a plastic bag in the airbox...... Caused all kinds of issues and no diagnostic tool in the world pops up and tells ya to check for a darn torn plastic bag in the airbox lol!!!

Driving her this weekend & she's an absolute joy to drive (especially since I push it pretty hard off road and it still gets out and does 70-80MPH like I never touched the rough stuff). Haven't really been driving my D2's besides the 99 D2. Kalahari is scheduled for it's first set of HG's with 248k on the clock (started seeping externally during the fall/winter). Then she'll be gtg!

Mine is my Daily, it's been trouble free for the past three years. I did just replace the front drive shaft as it was time. Not because of any noise or vibration, but I had 120,000 miles on the original. When I pulled it, the joints felt quite loose.

I have the feeling, the older the more reliable mine gets. But maybe it is just the result of paranoid maintenance.
