Default welding sparks will melt your windows :)

hey guys,

just thought i'd share that while i was tack welding my custom high mounts for my custom roof basket... i neglected to cover up the driver side rearest window below the alpine and the welding fash and sparks from the mount rained down on the window which has a film or something on the outside...

now it looks like shet, kinda like someone took a cat and let them climb up the window!!!!

how hard is it to replace the peice of glass!!! of can i tint over it?

glass is best left to the pros. Buy a used window and a new seal and pay someone to install it.

You can't easily get weld spatter out of glass.

Well at least you didnt cover your seats on your 83 toyota landcruiser FJ 40 with a bed sheet when mig welding a custom rollbar like I did.Yes the spatter caught the sheet on fire and luckily I had a fire extingusher close by and only lost the driver seat. After some more fabricating the seats out of a mitsubishi eclipse worked quite nice.As far as your window goes best to get a used one that spatter wont come off.
