Default Well, I will be dipped in ****.

Went to do my first fluids check after a month on the road, only to discover (heh) that there *is no ATF dipstick*. I didn't believe that, so I looked in the Owners Manual. Wherein it didn't have anything to say about it.

So I looked in the shop manual.

You have to jack it up, pull a panel, and unscrew a plug to check the ATF level?

Never seen a car like that in 30 years of driving. I guess you don't want any leaks in your ZF, huh?

That's what you get for driving a D2. D1s have a dipstick for the tranny. Further proof D1s are better than D2s. LOL

UH UH!!! NO WAY..........

The D1 dipstick is f*****n useless its so inaccurate, the fluid heats up so quick it moves up the level to fast making it hard to get a good cold reading, and to top it up, RAVE says check in P and the dipstick says check in N..........Whos right ??

With a D2 its fill to overflow, SIMPLE and cannot be misread!!!

I never bothered checking my tranny fluid level. Only time I pulled the dipstick out was when I drained and refilled the fluid. The tranny was the one thing on the truck that didn't leak.

Wow a month without checking fluids? My whole truck would be past empty by then, especially the windshield wash and the pwr steering pump

Yeah the engine was designed by GM, but these trucks are built in Europe. They take driving seriously. Check your fluids often or better yet go to a full service station and give the attendant an earful when he tells you that your tranny fluid is fine.
