Default Well it's official... Frito lay power here I come

It's official.. I just got home with my 98 Edmund box van that was a frito lay truck. $2600. All aluminum and pimping lol I'm pulling the driveline out of the ole disco and putting it up for sale. I'm putting the 4bt cummins/th400 in my 03 disco. Plan on starting to pull everything out this weekend. Bought the th400/np205 (pass side drop) for $300 off craigslist. I don't care if it's a stupid idea.. It's bought and it's being done. Period. lol I'll try to post pics after I get the 4bt out of the spud truck and have a empty disco chasis.

I think the 4bt is an excellent donor engine..does a 4bt mount up to a thm400 or do you need an adapter plate?
Looking forward to seeing the pics.

Sounds wild. What are you going to do with the Donor Tuck when you're thru stripping it down?

I am excited for you. This is exactly what I want to do to my 96 Disco. The 4BT is mated to the TH400 in the bread trucks so I don't think you need an adapter plate. I look forward to hearing how everything goes. I also look forward to a good cost analysis as I really want to do this to mine. 210 HP and 600ft/lb torque (tweaked of course) but still 30 miles to the gallon has me seeing stars. Good Luck!

YAY!!@$#! some one at last is doing this one the forums. If you have any questions about the cummins feel free to ask because i have had years of experience with them. Auroa 2000 turbo, larger plungers, bigger fuel rail, 4k gov spring, and straight cut fuel plate....speaking of which what are you doing for axles?

I take it you're not in a GA county that requires emissions tests.

Yeah I don't live in an emissions county. I haven't for a long time now thank god. This 4bt is mated to a Warner 4spd using a ford adapter plate. The cummins/th400 adapter is about $300 new but I'm going to look around for a used one or just try and make my own. To be honest I'm going to think about the axles later lol I just want to get this running and driving and the. I'll worry about the axles. Worst case I will have to get some junk yard 60's or some 10/12 bolts. This is gonna take me a few months to do so I'm not looking that far yet lol I will say the 4bt sounds mighty good. Hope it doesn't shake the rover to pieces...

I wouldn't recommend a 10 bolt, they are as weak as our stock axles...unless you replace the carrier.
