I was able to source one from a local muffler shop. Going to head over there during lunch to drop off the truck for them to patch it up. Bummer is that I just fixed some leaks on the stock cats due to some case cracklings while off roading and not even a couple months later, some degens stole one. Oh well; such is life sometimes.

Are there any Land Rover dismantlers up in the bay area? Might want to give them a call to see if they have any cats they'd be willing to sell you. I bought 2 Cat-Straps last year and wrapped both my cats up as a deterrent. So far, so good. "knock on wood"

I'll have to look up those cat straps to see. I looked around but most places didn't want to sell used cats haha

Pretty interesting that cats get stolen still. I practically need give a report card and blood sample to get $125 for my used set of 03 Rover cats. It's almost like laws only matter to normal people. The guy told me how much after he wouldn't take a picture of the title in my name as proof of ownership and I pretty much decided I can probably find a less inconvenient way to make $125. Maybe if I had a truckload of cats and a filing cabinet of signed titles to go with them.

Sorry to hear about your theft OP. I imagine we'll see a lot more theft in the coming few years. Frederic Bastiat comes to mind.

That sucks, join the club mine got stolen back in March. At least your starter wire wasn't cut in the process. Insurance took care of mine, idk if you guys in the US have comprehensive coverage that covers acts out of your control. Again sorry to hear that.

We can use insurance to pay for stolen items. However, your premium will go up and most of us have a 500 to 1000 dollar deductible. This makes the replacement of the cats a no brainer to replace out of pocket. Insurance in the USA kinda sucks.

Ah I see my deductible was 300, and it didn't effect my premium. That's kinda sucky

Sucks this happened to you, but one of the multitude of reasons we left the People’s Republik of Kalifornistan.

But as Dumbver is East Kalifornistan, the cancer of that state infiltrated and my latest D2 acquisition is actually a poor guy who had his cats stolen and was tired of fighting.

Best of luck and sorry it happened to you. The Bay Area used to be such a wonderful place…

Not sure if you were able to source the cats. Not sure why Autozone wouldn't ship to you house. I had to replace the CATs on my Disco back in the Spring of this year. Got the 91000ARs. Had a Dual Tone in San Diego install them and easily passed smog a few days later.

Here's my posts on the experience: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...erters-110817/

How was the Cat-Strap install? Clean? Looks like the most elegant/effective solution so far.
