So I had codes p0171 p0174 (running lean) and first thing I thought was maf. do I replaced my maf on my 2000 land rover discovery 2 and reset my codes via obd2 and disconnecting battery cables. I start the truck and immediately notice it's sputtering, not holding RPMs and when I drive it and push the accelerator to the floor there is a huge lag. when I say huge lag I mean it isn't registered when I initially push the pedal to the floor and seems like it's playing catch up. I get it back home and soon I turn into driveway CEL comes on. P0300 p0301 p0305 p0306 p0308... I'm like wtf just happen. also notice I now have a small amount of antifreeze coming from under my truck looks like behind the motor toward the back.. I replaced the MAF, front 02. what else should i do??
My first thought is vacuum leak. Second thought is low fuel pressure. Third thought is MAF or O2s depending on real time OBD2 data.
With the coolant leak, the inlet manifold valley pan gasket could be leaking. Head gaskets can also leak back there. Fixing the leak might fix the problem.
Hi,
I guess I'm a newbie. I just got a 1999 Discovery and have zero experience. This Rover hasn't been started in 6 or 7 years. I removed the plugs, oiled the cylinders and it turns over fine. Put some gas in it but I don't hear the fuel pump (and it will not start). The fuel pump relay is ok. Can I access the pump under the back carpet? How do you tip those rear seats out of the way?

Thanks Harvir! I did as you suggested and found the cover under the carpet. When I opened it, it was packed with acorns. More squirrels! Fortunately, they didn't seem to bother the wiring. It looks like current is getting to the pump but it is not working. I may try to hotwire it to be sure, if I can figure that out. The next problem will be to get the pump out. I did also spray some starter fluid in the air intake and it fires. So I think the ignition is working. My new addition. 97760 mi. Home to mice and squirrels for the last 7 years. Under the carpet. After removing the acorns... So how do I get this out?
If I remember correctly, you need to unscrew the plastic ring. I think I used a hammer and drift on mine. Look for a post from WaltNYC on this forum. He has a link to all the LR Manuals in his signature. They are invaluable.
