Default Wendover Utah, trouble code 306

So I'm driving across the country and 2000 miles into the trip I get trouble code 306 which I think is misfire in cylinder 6? Flashing check engine, a little rough idle rougher driving. Check engine stops flashing at idle.

Anybody know a good mechanic near wendover Utah? I'm close to the bonneville salt flats...

Thanks!
Scott

So, replace all the plugs and wires to correct this, use only 8 mm silicone wires and you will be fine.
By the way, how many miles on the truck and have you done the major service listed at the top of this section, probably is needed, especially the front drive shaft.

Thanks Mike. The wires only had about 25,000 miles on them. The shop was able to replace the #6 wire and it's all good. 108k on the truck and all service up to date including front drive shaft. I actually met bill Davis at great basin rovers in Utah... The remanufctured shaft they sold me was a little out of balance, so they had it re balanced for me and back in the road in an hour. I just put 3000 miles on it in 6 days, so far so good except for the plug wire... Which I will replace all with magnecore when I can get a chance.
Thanks again
Scott

You risk overheating and burning out the CAT with a misfire.
You can buy ONE wire from a part store and perhaps replace it to get you where you are going.
Replace the plug too.

Make sure the drive shafts are greased so you will not throw one.
I just drove from Boulder, CO to Seattle a month ago.
Went right thru SLC area.
Lots of BUGS on I-80 near Ogden along that creek which parallels I-80.

Smack Dab in Downtown Ogden was a friendly parts store with a clean parking lot.

Clean enough to crawl under and fix things.

IF you can get to Park City - do so.
It is relaxing and pretty.
There is an Irish bar in the middle of town. Hamburger is $8 and they have happy hour.
All the colorful locals hang out there.

Hey thanks, yeah I literally drove it 2 miles with check engine light and got it fixed. They were able to swap out the #6 wire... Had to take the heater tube out to get it back in to the coil. Seems like a retarded place for a coil, but I'm not a car designer.
Went to park city for the night and had sushi in the Olympic downtown area... Lots of cool places to shop and eat... Beautiful there. Now in Morgan hill ca at friends house getting ready to spend some time in Yosemite...

nice.
Glad I gave some good advice for once.
Yeah, on the road - no time for messing with fixing the rover..

Glad you are in Morgan Hill.

Go to the Brewing Company in Los Gatos.
It is fun.

Really Really good beer.
Nice people.

Looks like you did have a bad wire... wow.
