Went to the Dealer today
I took my Disco to the dealer today to have my base idle set because of a high idle condition. Right off the bat it was 99.00 to have the diagnostic done on it which was required weather I knew what the problem was or not. I was not to happy about that. They set my base idle and repaired 2 vaccume leaks and a multi-point inspection. This is what else they found.
1) Transfer output shaft seal is leaking was leaking (I did not know because I park on grass/dirt)
2) An engine oil leak (very small I knew this)
3) Power steering leak (I knew this future repair)
4) 3 out of 4 tie rods have play (I did not know this)
5) Rear pinion seal leaks (did not know this same as 1)
6) Driver side Tail lamp was not correctly fitted.(I did not know this)
They also said that the following codes might be needed to be looked out
1) P0102 MAF circuit low input (drive cycle A) I have no clue
2) P0125 Water tempture sensor- no warm up fault (drive cycle B) I have no clue
3) P0130 Oxygen sensor circuit slow response, upstream sensor bank A (drive cycle C) I have no clue.
4) P1138 Oxygen sensor problem with switching lean, sensor(s) for bank A (drive cycle C)

Ran out of room. I got all that from the dealer and it was only 99.00 I was very happy. I did turn down the car wash which was included. I feel that Cape Fear Land Rover did me right. My Disco runs very well now I just need to fix a couple of more things. I need some help understanding what those codes are. They also said I was getting near my 120000 service. What is the 120k service. I am at 117000.

You are past due by time for your major 120K.
I would not address the codes till you have the service done. How mechanical are you, will you be doing the service?
1 Oil filter, K&N 3001 or Mobil 1- 301
1 Factory air filter
6 Qts. of engine oil
2 feet of 3/16th vacuum tube
2 feet of 5/16th vacuum tube
12 Qts. of ATF
7 Qts. of 80/90W synthetic gear oil, 85W/140 for HD use
3 Pints of synthetic DOT 4 Brake fluid
2 Qts of synthetic Power steering fluid
2 Gallons of OAT, orange coolant, also called DexCool
1 Bottle of Lucas Power Steering additive
1 Bottle of Lucas Transmission additive
1 Can of Spray Carb. Spray
1 Can Of Brake cleaner
8 Spark Plugs, I use Bosch Platinum Plus 4's
1 Set of Magnacor 8mm plug wires
1 Serpentine belt
2 Bottles of SeaFoam gas additive
1 T/Stat
1 bottle of WaterWetter or Purple Ice
Hoses and belts, as necessary
60,000 Mile Service or Major Service for High Mileage Used Vehicle just purchased
Bleed the brakes
Flush and change the power steering fluid adding one bottle of additive
Service the tranny adding one bottle of additive
Change the coolant and t/stat
Do an engine flush before changing the oil
Do an induction cleaning
Clean the throttle body
Add fuel additive to full gas tank
Change both of the diffs fluid
Change the t/case oil
Replace the plugs and wires
Replace the air filter
Lube all the drive shaft grease fitting including the 2 slip shafts
Do full inspection of brakes, hoses, bushings etc.
Hopefully I didn't leave anything out.
If you want some help with this get back to me.

Well the 120k service will be the same os the 60k service.
So your check engine light is on I take it?
The two drive cycle codes are for just that, drive cycles, if you dont drive it enough then these codes will be pending, repeated short trips for example will set "soft" codes in the ECU because the engine and emissions system is not getting up to proper temp.
SO answer me this, how do you use the truck? How often do you drive it and how far do you drive it?
Once a week to the bingo hall or to work every day 20 miles away?

I bought the Disco in Sept. 08 and did the 60k. I dont drive it that much I dont put 1k a month on it. I use it for light off road and when I need more room than my Accent has and does not require me to use my F350. I would like to make everything right on it. I just put the Lucas power stearing additive in it 2 weeks ago and that leak is almost over. All my oils are synthetic(mobil one). They cleared my codes but the light came back on in about 50 miles. They said this was going to happen and the cause was most likley the oxygen sensor. I do need to change the Tstat and I do have a little oil seeping from the valve covers. I am a good mech. I rebuild helicopter engines for a living so I am up for anything.

Get your 02's replaced, they are past do.
Check the exact work done on your 60K against my list then do all the remaining work, like replacing the plug wires, induction cleaning, additive in the gas tank any anyting else
Not yet done.
I agree with Spike, replace the t/stat as well as replace the upper radiator hose with the new 3 piece hose set along with the new black plastic t with the bleed screw included.
