Had some fun in the mud. Got stuck at one point and found out my door seals aren't the best they could be:

Anyway, I got water in the CD changer and it has since passed. Will simply putting in a new disc changer fix it or do I have to replace the whole assembly under the passenger seat? If so will it be cheaper to just buy an aftermarket head and use that as the cd player instead? I've been thinking of putting in a waterproof sub in the back anyway...

If the changer is toast then you will have to replace the whole thing, about $8,000 for a used one, $18,000 for a new one. And it MUST be a Rover unit to work with your Rover head unit.
It is a Pioneer, but they use special controls for factory units so a Pioneer CD changer wont work.
I bought a new CD head unit and had that installed when my CD changer and AMP died.
FM modulated cd changers are a thing of the past, I tried to get one for the wifes car, no go, so that route is out for you too.

So... New head unit? I kinda wanted one anyway. I'm short so it's impossible for me to change cds while driving.
On an interesting side note:

Look at that stock suspension go! What do we have, like 12" of wheel travel?

If you have an mp3 player I'd use that instead.
If you have an mp3 player I'd use that instead.
If Beethoven only wanted a 6 pieceorchestra that is the way he would have written his music!
If Jimi Hendrix didnt want you to hear every guiter note he wouldnt have played them all.
If Ozzy Osbourne wanted you to understand what he was saying he...well, never mind on that one.
MP3's suck the hairy...well, never mind on that one either. But they do suck.
Analog audio is like a Defender, digital audio is like a Discovery and MP3's are like Jeeps.
You just cant beat the original.
