Yeah but there's no easier way to flood your carpets and cd player with stinky mud, and in the process make your girlfriend pissed off at you every time she sits in your truck.
sounds like a pain in the *** girlfriend,,,,shuuuusha

Spike, I was under the impression MP3s are digital audio...?

and SJ, she's not bad. She just always wears those ridiculous $150 ugg boots. Why? I don't know, my $25 KMart steel toe boots do just fine for me.

I hear ya Spike, but driving down the road with crappy stock speakers annoys me more than the lower fidelity mp3. Most of them I converted myself from cd's at 192Kbs. With the amount of rock n' roll I grew up with I already know all of the guitar notes. I also play electric guitar so that helps too.

While we're on the topic, I also want to upgrade my speakers (after performance mods of course) to water proof ones. Anyone have any experience with them? sounds like crap or normal?

I'd worry a lot more about the electronics under the hood before waterproof speakers. Performance mods? Replace plugs (Platinum +4) and wires (Magnecor), replace the air filter with a new LR one (no K&N air filters). That's about it.

D2G, I'm doing plugs and wires this weekend, just did the filter 2 weeks ago. By performance mods I meant an OME lift, new bumpers (I guess not really directly performance related, but better angles help right?), lockers and such.

Yes MP3's are digital, but in order to fit all of that music in such a small space they reduce the quality of it by taking out some of the notes, for a lack of a better word.
When the music is converted it goes through a process that takes out notes that supposedly you cannot hear. Well if you cant hear it then why is it there to begin with?
Its like making Kraft macaroni and cheese but you leave out the butter. you can eat it, but is it as good?
