wet passenger floor
Hey everyone. Long time lurker. So i noticed a few weeks ago during a heaving rain that the floor on the passenger side of my 03 disco was soaking wet. I took the panel off under the glovebox and could see water dripping down from the heater core. I don't think its being pulled in from the vent below the windshield as it seems to happen mainly overnight while its pouring rain. I siliconed the lower cowl cover as it is warped and lifting away from the windshield. I noticed that at the front of the rain gutter on the passenger side was a huge open hole that seemed to be allowing water to flow behind the A-piller but after sealing this with silicone as well, it continues to leak. Any ideas would be appreciated. I park downhill and it seems like there is an abundance of water flowing towards the front. I will try parking it backwards and seeing if that will alleviate the issue but i really would rather seal it properly. Anyone tips? thanks in advance, I've really enjoyed this forum.

I guess it is a possibility but the sheer amount of water makes me think its an accumulation of all the water from the entire roof all running down the windshield into somewhere else. but i will try and clear any clogs if i can't find them.
I had a similar issue on the drivers side that was due to a new windsheild not having been fully sealed at the top corner whee the two beads of sealant met. Have you gotten a new windshield lately?
A wet passenger floor can also indicate a leaking heater core. Are you sure it is water or is it coolant?
The sunroof drain hoses being clogged is also a good thing to check.

definitely water. While it is dripping coolant as well it isn't coming into the vehicle. I went home yesterday, parked it down hill and ran a hose across the windshield. within a minute it was soaked inside the footwell. Perhaps the sunroof drains are leaking also but this is clearly from below the windshield cowling. I noticed that the trough that sits above the firewall has two holes on either end that allows water to flow down the side fender and onto the ground. mine also has a few holes that look like they used to have plugs or pull throughs for running wires. now they are open. Water flows through that hold and down into the engine compartment. I am planning on trying to seal those holes temporarily with tape to see if that is the issue. if so i will plug them. otherwise I'm still at a loss on how the water is getting through.
