These are under the hood near the windshield.

Regt would be correct. They are indeed for the heated wind screen option.

Previous owner had new windsheild instaled right before I bought the truck,I guess he opted for the cheaper non heated windshield for the replacement

Do you have the button for it on the dash? They are pre-wired for it even if not originally equipped. Even if you just slap in the windshield and switch you will need to have the option turned on in the control unit for it to work ;-)

I have the button and it lights up when i press it.
