What about professional induction cleaning??
People on this forum recommend do-it-yourself seafoam treatment for an induction system cleaning. What about the professional induction cleanings? A shop I frequent talks about an induction cleaning process that is vaporized or misted thru the throttle-plate intake, and they "claim" it is "better" than a seafoam treatment. It is about $100 to have them do it. Any opinions?
And..in general is an induction system cleaning either Seafoam or other process a good thing for a very high mileage engine that appears to run well? 173,000 miles. 1994 Disco 1, 3.9L v8.

What products are they going to use? B&G stuff is good, so it might be worth it, if you don't want to mess with it.
I would recommend doing it. It cleans out the top end so it breathes better. IMHO, Seafoam would be better as it coats the internals and soaks it. It breaks off the deposits better. Using a can of good injector cleaner before will help loosen up all of the crud. Be ready to change your oil soon after the cleaning.
