Default what actually is the effect of 3 Amigos??

My friend asked me what happened when the 3 Amigos alarm went off? I started to answer and realized I did not know exactly what the effect was. I looked on the forum and did not find the answer. Did I miss the thread?

thanks,
rmcc

well... ABS and traction control aren't operational, and less importantly hill decent control is inoperable.

You have normal brakes pre ABS. Many on the forums drive this way. You can lock them up if you press really hard. Also off roads like crap because of the open diffs and no traction control.

Those lights do nothing more than cause you to spend countless hours searching land rover forums

Good question, so does the Option B to fix the 3 amigos actually fix the issue, or just make the lights go away?

Any ABS hard fault = 3 amigo’s. It is usually caused by the shuttle valve switch wiring getting brittle and cracking allowing it to have ground faults or switch faults (when that happens a key cycle will usually clear the 3 Amigos), if the 3 Amigo’s pop up and do not clear after a key cycle, it’s due to a hard fault either from a bad ABS connector, bad sensor reading out of range, or something inside the WABCO Unit, or the internal connector inside it. Option B eliminates the flawed internal connection, and makes the ABS much more reliable as far as setting random faults.

Can also make lawyers richer if there is an accident and the amigos were detected to be on since before.

If that’s the case Jeep/Fiat is in for it!!!! Any JK from 07 to 17 = has their very own version of the 3 Amigo’s. However unlike our D2’s with a repair to fix it, Jeep/Fiat is relying on software & from all my Jeep buddies with dashes lit up like Christmas Tree’s it doesn’t seem to work.
