Most recommend using the OEM Land Rover Part, but I just replaced mine about a week ago with an STP filter from AutoZone. I think as long as you stay away from the K&N filter you can't go wrong. The oils used on the K&N filter have been suspected to cause your Mass Air Flow Sensor to malfunction. Although my Disco II had one on it with no MAF sensor problems...and im at 123,000miles. No telling how long it had been on there either.

As for the Oil Filter, I use the Mobile1 filter from AutoZone with Pennzoil Platinum 10w30 full synthetic oil.

I use the Mobil 1 filter for the oil. There is a difference between that and the cheaper ones. I usually get the "oil change specials" from Advanced where you get like 5 qts of M1 oil plus the M1 filter for $27 or so. Not a bad deal considering the filters are $13 on their own. Buy 3 of the specials (since you need more oil) and then have the extra filter to use for another change, or get a filter for something else.
For air, anything like Purolator will be fine. I just stay away from bargain brands in general.

Mobil 1 or K&N long filter, whichever one is in stock or cheaper that day.

Can't remember for the life of me what brand my air filter is. It came in a yellow box with green writing...? I get them from my mechanic, and it's the foam type instead of paper.

Mobil 1 301 oil filter and LR air filter. The air filter was on sale at AB, otherwise I would go with a NAPA or WIX air filter.
