Mike,

Thought of that...but the dirt that comes out of the box by removing that bleeder might be worth taking the bleeder out...

On the topic of power steering fluid. I changed my pump the other day, and when I filled and bled the system, it took one Quart to fill. I added a little more as I bled it, but not much. I expected it to take 3-4 for a full system flush. Does this sound right?

yes, because what you did was bleed the system, you did not completely flush the system.
