I drive on the highway for 3 reasons, 1 is to my brothers house, the highway part is about 4 or 5 miles in city traffic and there is no telling if I will be doing 50 or 80 but I don't have a choice either way it is with traffic (and people get shot for it here so I just do it) the second reason is if I am going to the casino (which is maybe once every week or two) about 7 or 8 miles on the highway or third if I am going to visit my parents which is about 500 miles away, my mother makes the drive (at the speed limit) in about 8.5 hours with stops, and my father, brother, and I all make it in about 6-6.5 hours with stops. I don't mind paying the extra in gas to shorten the 4 hours of drive time off the whole trip. more than 90% of my monthly driving is on surface streets and I drive as I said about 50-55, and usually average about 3 - 5 miles between stops or turns.

I'll be changing the plugs leads coil & temp sensor soonish!
Screw time, before you know it you'll be dead and all that "time" you saved by speeding wont be worth squat.
Life is short, slow down, enjoy the ride and take in all of the beauty that God has given us to enjoy.

Besides, how can you find any trails driving fast?

We dont have speed camera's, they are illegal.
The speed limit is 70mph here but the normal speed on the expressway is 80+.

Oh the land of the free!

we've got it so bad they are about to convert all the red light cameras to speed cameras as well.
Thinking about pinging you for 1 kmh over the limit!
It will be possible to lose enough points to void your licence driving to work on a monday morning!
problem is the local government is broke and wants to raise funds this way.

If your doing 65 on the highway you better not be in front of me either.

Good grief.
The difference between 65mph and 75mph is a few hundred RPM. I know the engine run time is lessen by speeding but I still think it's putting excess stress on the engine. Also I think speeding in a top heavy 5K lbs suv is irresponsible driving. I don't care if you kill yourself, just don't kill me.

When they need money here they just raise taxes and reduce the public services.
In some states they use speed camera's but not to many any more, to many law suites.
Invasion of privacy (and I agree) and who says that was me driving?
Maybe I loaned my car to my brother?
Or my teenage son took it without my knowledge.
We have camera's at red lights but they are for traffic control and monitoring only.
Ahhh...the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Taxes are unpopular - fining someone for breaking the law is defencible (I guess). fighting road toll, yada yada yada..............
I think you can nominate another driver - I know some guys with no points left nominate their wives so they keep their licence.

Anyway - On the good fuel economy. My parts guy reckons my milage is so bad because my temp sensor for the ECU is bad. runs as if the engine is cold so it runs super rich. Sound feasible?

I've got my plugs, sensor, coil - just waiting on the 8mm Magnacores. I'm expecting big results.

Another good reason to have a ScanGaugeII. You should be able to get someone to hook up a scan tool to see if it stays in open loop before you start replacing items. That is a possible explanation though.

I think my truck might be a bit old for that ScanGaugeII mate.
I'll be taking it to get the timing done though, might see if they can hook it up to test the other ignition circuitry.
The temp sensor was only $20 - cheap gamble.
plugs are wrong type and black.
leads are $hit cheap rubbish.
coil is non genuine and questionable.
- So I don't think I'm going over board.
