What is the low emissions range rover engine?
I need to replace the engine in my 2004 Land Rover discovery that has secondary air. Through this forum, it seems that 4.6L range rover engines would work with no issue and are more reliable. I found one for sale that is from a 2002 range rover and says it is the "Low Emissions" version? What differences does it have from the original engine in my Disco? Does this just mean it has secondary air? Would it be a good replacement candidate in my Discovery?
I am unsure if the "Low emissions" has SAI. I would be inclined to think it does because SAI does emissions stuff. I am just a little confused because there seems to be 4.6L range rover engines that have SAI, but are not "Low Emissions"
Block is exactly the same and there is no emission related stuff on it (except the SAI ports). You have to swap over many parts from your D2 anyway, because they are different like brackets or exhaust manifolds.
You should ask for pictures which show the SAI ports.

They wont give me photos, but they gave the vin which didnt really help. I can not find much online relating to "low emissions" engines, but it seems that all 4.6 RR between 99-2002 had secondary air injection when researching online. Does secondary air lower emissions?
