Default What is this Plug next to the SLS Air Spring ?

On road no tools. SLS blew. Shop Changed Air Spring. Got the car today and something is missing. I don't recognize what this plug is... Think something is missing from the clip holder. You can see it in the left of the photo.

Any help appreciated thanks.

Isn’t that where the wheel speed sensor comes through?

what does the other side look like.

Unless I’m thinking of something else.

I just talked to a friend in the USA. Private guy., Good reputation in LR community 20 years. He said pulling the speed sensor can cause transmission problems in these cars. Anyone please confirm if this is true. Please.

The clip holder is for the ABS line from the wheel. Sometimes people run the sensor wire all the way back to the SLABS unit so I wouldn't be too concerned about that.
The black plug tucked up the top is not part of the ABS system.
I have not heard of any issues arising with the transmission if a wheel sensor is disconnected. It will obviously cause issues with the ABS and traction control system though.

What's the black plug for? SLS Air Spring was Changed. The ABS line is missing. That plugs tucked up there now. There is a new noise. Need to know what;s up., Just got it back from the shop. Transmission was also shifting into 3rd gear at 40 MPH instead of 30 MPH... is that related to this? Re-set Transmission with Nanocom... gear shifts normal now. But this part is missing and there is a new noise that wasn't there before.

That plug is not the ABS plug. ABS plugs are round with two pins, and are often white or yellow.
I am not sure what that is for -- it is a long time since I had a truck with SLS. You should search for the D2 Electrical Library and use the wire colours and location to identify the plug.

If you do not have an ABS sensor, you will not have any functional ABS or traction control and you will have error lights on the dash.

This was done AFTER the AIR Spring was changed. That part was removed. There is also a NEW NOISE.

I need to know how to download a video to this website.

It's only letting me download photos.

Which side of the vehicle is this?

I’m going down rabbit holes here, but it’s in the effort of elimination of variables for what that plug is. If the vehicle has parking sensors, this could be a plug for that if it’s on the left hand side. It might be related to the OEM tow harness on the right hand side. Again on the left side, it might be a plug for the rear AC, but I think that all runs in the interior. I doubt it’s any of those, but maybe it can point you in the direction of what to think about.

1) Right Side
2) Not a parking sensor. No Parking Sensors were included with stock Land Rover Discovery 2
3) Not the Tow Harness
4) Not the plug for the rear AC

What direction? You know nothing about these cars.
