What pressure test cap for the coolant tank?

Default What pressure test cap for the coolant tank?
I have a set of 15 caps with my pressure tester and none work with my Rover. Does anyone know what fits?

Can you post a photo? Overall it resembles your actual coolant tank cap.

I don't know which kit you have, but the pressure test kit I've "rented" from AutoZone was made by Powerbuilt. I recall the correct adapter was number 5, which also fits some BMWs. I know it was orange.

Yep Autozone powerbuilt kit, Orange #5 for BMW

I have 3 caps which fit and screw down, but none of them prevent air escaping from the overflow (short little open hose). One gets close but still won't stop it no matter how tight I make it.

The BMW one we're talking about has 2 orings if I remember right to seal the overflow. If you are using this one and it doesn't seal then I'd say the tank is bad.

the one that's close has one o ring down on a shift, but it don't think it gets far enough in. How could a tank be bad by letting air out the overflow port?

Either way, damn. My fancy kit is useless for the rover.

If you were using the correct cap and air was escaping then something else would be wrong.
What brand/model kit do you have? It'll be nice to know which one not to get for Rovers.

Are you plugging/capping off the overflow tube at the neck of the reservoir cap?
