Default What is this Special Edition D2?

I found this 03 D2 for sale locally and I can't ID the special edition for the life of me. It's giving me Kalahari vibes but the steel wheels and the running boards have me stumped....
Also can anyone ID the running boards and the steel wheels?

I answered my own questions. The wheels are OEM and apparently very rare. The side steps are ARB and you can still buy them at AB. As to what special edition it is I checked it out after I posted and its not a legit Special Edition. It has no placard, I think its a owner built rep.

They’re also on crack asking $7500 for it on OfferUp. I just bought a Alveston Red ‘01 for $1000. (Was asking $2500) last night in Bremerton. It’s running rough but not bad enough to not make it up the ramp and onto the trailer uphill.

Was that the one with the Safari 5000 driving lights on the brush bar? I saw it on Facebook Marketplace and made an offer for just the driving lights- never heard back though (as expencted, but you miss every shot you don't take!).

Yes. My wife told me if the seller agreed to $1000 then I could buy it. When I told her a couple days of haggling later that they agreed, my wife said “well, s**t. I guess we’ll have another one.” 🤣 The lady I bought it from was told by a “mechanic” that it needs a new engine. I’m leaning more towards an 02 sensor at the moment. It’s running rough and a bit rich. She bought it from someone in Port Orchard and it came with a bunch of parts in boxes, including a complete sunroof assembly. I’m in Burnaby, Canada right now or I’d be tearing into it.

Haha, I bought mine from a guy in Orting similarly, asking $2500 but sold it for $1000 AND he flat bedded it from Orting to Poulsbo for me as part of the deal. After my initial, but brief (owing to a bad crank sensor) test drive I got back in my wife's car and she said "you're going to buy that stupid thing, aren't you?" 1 new crank position sensor later she was up and running! She loves it now, of course its "our" Land Rover when we are out on an adventure and getting compliments on it at gas stations but its still "my" land rover when it needs fixing.
