Apologies I. Advance to ne.whr. Hope we’re not hi jacking.
I like it a lot. I think the profile is pretty understated and low. It’s definitely not as sexy and fancy looking as the Land Rover rack but it’s way bigger, and i feel like the utility of eleven cross bars that are standard m8 bolt extrusions is just great. So while front runner makes plenty of stuff for these racks, you can fasten just about anything you want yourself because of the channels running everywhere.
im wiring up rack lights right now (as soon as it gets above 18 degrees) and the one thing I wish it had was a chase around the outside perimeter so I could run wire.
otherwise I’m happy. The road noise isn’t too bad at 75 with the provided wind deflectors gapped about an inch or more with the sun shade shut. It’s not no noise but it’s certainly liveable.
I got this thing for 10% off on Black Friday something like 1350$ to my door. That’s awesome considering the LR rack is 1800+ and the one this thread is about (which was my first choice until I knew what it cost or how early in development they were) 2300.
my biggest gripe with the rest of the racks is that they look half assed because they don’t run the full length of the roof. Specifically the Land Rover one. It’s way too far off the front of the car for my liking.
just another data point re racks.
