What are the two wires hanging near the transmission on 2004 Discovery 2
I found something strange when I was replacing the transmission shifting cable on my 2004 Land Rover Discovery. I found there were two black wires hanging freely near the transmission end on the driver side. The two wires seemed having the same connectors at the end so they are not supposed to connect to each other. So, what are these wires(cables) for? and what are they for?
Am I missing something there where these two wires are supposed to connect to?
Some vehicles have a temperature sensor mounted in the transmission. These wires connect to that.
mollusc,
I’ve wanted to monitor my transmission temperature on my ‘00 Disco 2. Was there a temp sensor on that year Disco? I can monitor is by programming my ScanGuage II, but not if there’s no sender.
thanks!!
There was one on my '99, but not on my '03. Dunno about the '00.
I don't know if you can pull a separate input out of the system even if you have the sensor.
