Talking What's the best Nav Stereo Sysetm for Disco 2 in 2019?

Hey everyone. First time poster, long time lurker. Looking for advice on what nav systems are recommended by everyone for a 2004 Disco 2. I'm open to flip up or in dash. Open to awesome systems that require fabrication or a lot of modifications if worth it. At this point in my research I just want to make sure whatever it is it has Google Auto built in.

Thanks

These are the contenders for my D2s. IMHO, you’re smart to get something with Android Auto or Apple Car Play for reasons you obviously already know.

In my search for a Disco, I saw many D2s with single DIN flip outs and Alpine makes a very interesting option that is a permanent, stand alone screen built on to a single DIN body.

Im leaning towards the Alpine. Good luck!!

OR you can go with a multitude of double DINs and fabricate to you hearts content? LOL!

I went with a Kenwood and the fab route. Don't think the Alpine was available then.

Also running front and rear parking cameras, upgraded sub, speakers, and amp.

Really cool fab job. I do like that 9" Alpine but I also like the look of the in dash double din. hard decisions....

*edit*. Didn’t see the title had Nav in it

This has been in my Amazon cart for months now -- hoping to pick it up sometime this spring along with a simple 10" sub setup

How did you set up having a front camera as well? Does your unit have 2 video inputs? How does it know to trigger and release the front feed?

Well done! I want to go with front and rear cams on at least one of the Discos. Very nice!

The deck does have two video inputs for cameras.
Reverse triggers the rear. There is a button on the deck that triggers the front. Handy in tight spots, trigger the front camera to see what you are creeping up to and when you go into reverse it automatically displays the rear.

Physically the front camera is centered on front bumper. It's never been broken there but they are cheap and easy to replace if needed.

I also run front and rear "dash cams" as a separate system. Video from those is access via phone app or reading the SD directly.

So far I've preferred to keep it stock appearances with the Grom bluetooth adapter in the back. I just use my phone for nav.

Though having CarPlay seems like it would come in handy.

Absolutely love that sub enclosure. Was that built by you or a local audio shop?
