What's the failure mode of the door lock actuators?

Default What's the failure mode of the door lock actuators?

I think over the lifespan of owning both Discos, I've replaced all the actuators except for the rear door/hatch and starting lap two. Why the heck do they suck so bad?

Not sure never had to change mine and owed 2 discos since 2012.
I do treat my disco couple times a year with rust proofing oil and maybe that helps keeps things lubricated and wiring flexible

Failure mode is the brushes wear out in the little dc motors. I have replaced the complete motor brush assembly with the ones off of the Lexus motors sold on ebay. They are identical (shafts are not identical).
