Default whats the word on cheap champion plugs?

hey guys...

i've purchased a used engine for my 03 disco, prior to my fire and failed rebuilt engine attempts (3) my car couldn't take any plug other than OEM $$$ champions... no matter what i used... i would receive a misfire code.

the wires were new, as were the coil packs also...

things are tight enough that i cant afford to spend 15$ a plug on champion plugs from the dealer!! like a said earlier.... Bosch+2 & +4, E3, NGK'S...nothing worked like champions

today i picked up a set of 8 champion RC12MC4's ...they are labled "Copper plus" at a deal of 2$ a plug.. i couldnt resist are these any good.... all spark plugs are made they same anyways... they just use different metals or designs...

Has anyone used the champion plugs THAT AREN'T OEM $$$

The plugs you get from Rover all have microchip technology that sends off a code to your ecu to not give a misfire count. When you buy a plug from the Rover parts counter a black helicopter actually takes a look at your license plate and shoots the vin# to the parts guy inside who then sets your plugs vin specific to your vehicle. If someone else tries to run these plugs, there will be problems. Black vans actually show up and... well I've said too much already.
Kidding of course...
Champion and Rover worked hard together to make these plugs for the aluminum OHV V8's. Rovers are very sensitive to other plugs. I have heard if you buy the champion "4X4" plug from the parts house that it is the same plug as the Rover one. I have never persued this claim or even know if this "4x4" plug still exsists. It does not surprise me that you have misfire issues with other well known plugs.

I am curious on the wires as well.

Nothing wrong with running copper champions, they will just wear out faster.

LOL i hate that.

well im gonna guess you have 8mm STI's and go ahead and say your misfires are not caused by your plugs.

I always read that the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs were the way to go.

Any one care to chime in on this...

i have the +4's and they are awesome... IF you run 8mm wires. some people like the Iridiums. my +4's and magnecors helped me get rid of misfires.
