Default Wheel / Tire suggestions

Hey folks, newbie here! I am picking up a MIdnight Blue 2003 Discovery II SE this week and am stoked to trick it out a bit. I am thinking about a 2-3 inch lift and then would like to see if anyone here can help me with the wheels and tires. I was thinking about the Black Rhino Warlord (Black and gold) 17 inch. Any thoughts? Anyone have any super cool wheels they have they would recommend? Is the bolt pattern 120x5? Any tips or pointers? Thank you kindly in advance folks!!! PS. I will add some pics soon, car is super clean, excited to start upgrading it!

I went with the Terrafirma Dakar 16x7 wheels. These are a relative bargain as they are a very high quality wheel made by EVO Couse in Italy. EVO Couse is a recognized supplier of high end competition racing wheels.

I am running 235 75R16 tires.

If off road travel is your goal, a 17” wheel is a waste of sidewall.

Stick with 16s and aside from the two TF alloy options be prepared to have custom ones drilled out or run a wheel adapter. 17s are tempting if you are going above 33" tires as the number of tire options available on a 16" wheel that size is pretty much non-existent or super wide. I think a 255/85/16 is probably the best large tire size option for a 16" wheel if not then go with the 235 option.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I did some more research and here is what I am thinking.

Terrafirma Alloy Bead Lock Ready Wheel - Matt Black - 7 x 16 - ET10 - LL1714TFMB.

These seem to be what people like and will work for the truck. Anybody have any thoughts on this wheel? Also, could anyone help me on picking the tire for this wheel? I want to make sure I get the right tire to go with this. Also does anyone have any thoughts on spacers? Any info would be helpful thanks in advance!!

Are you planning to install a lift? If you are, I'd run 235/85/16 or 255/85/16 depending on the lift you plan to do.

I did not like the beadlock Terrafirma wheels due to my worry about mud or snow getting stuck behind the beadlock flange making the wheels out of balance.

I also did not like how far out the wheel was offset. You definitely would not need spacers for those.

The Dakar wheel outer face sits in almost the same place as the factory wheels. Some people like their tires to stick out more.I like the mud and splash protection having my wheels in the wheelwell.

I just put the TF 3 inch lift kit from lucky8 on the little ladies 99 discovery. I don't have any pics of it since I did the 2003 headlight conversion. The kit had everything I needed except the front drive shaft. I do recommend the heavy duty front drive shaft upgrade.

We went with 285 75 16 on the factory 5 rims. The tire does scrub the inner fender at full clock due to the width but the 3 inch lift gives perfect wheel well clearance.

I'm 6ft 2 and I have to slide up onto the seat.
