how do you get teh little caps off the lugs to remove the wheel and tires

you DONT... your lug wrench fits over them. Remind the monkeys at the tire shop, too, cuz they WILL find a way to pry them off!

With time or if someone uses the wrong size socket, the caps get stretched and it is then hard to remove them. I have been carring my own socket so if I go need to take a wheel off at a shop I know the correct size will be used. I had one shop replace all my lug nuts after they used the wrong socket and ruin them,
Don't attempt to remove the caps. If you have one tire store that you use, and if they caused this, they should be made to replace them.
