Default When our Discos are antiques...then what???

It's interesting to have a community of folks obsessing over a vehicle that is no longer made (D1 and D2). In ten years or so, our trucks will pretty old! Especially the D1s. Given that many of us are driving trucks that are 10 years old...then one could rationalize that in 10 years we'll be driving a current make/model.

So, that's the question: what's life look like after D1 or D2?

LR3? Other?

I like the LR3...certainly a different beast...but seems like a good fit compared to other current models.

I plan on still driving my DI in 10 years and beyond, as a daily driver no less.

I too will drive it as long as I can. I eventually want to take it back to Puerto Rico to drive around on the farm where I can really take advantage of its abilities. As current LRs have a more contemporary look, the DII is already a classic to me.

rovers have to be 10 years old before I can afford to buy them :P From what i know about the LR3 (IFS) and from what i've heard (too many electronics that only dealer can work on) I think I'll just keep driving my DII or maybe pick up a D1.

I agree with one exception, four wheel independent suspension rocks.

The LR3, LR4, RR Sport, RR and Freelander all have four wheel indie suspension.
My Montero had it and it was awesome.

I won't quit driving my Disco till they stop making parts for it. I'll probably keep it around as an off road rig/work horse and drive my Jetta TDI that I'll (hopefully) be getting some time in the next year or two.
