Default When to Perform a Hub Bearing Replacment

I have been keeping up with my DII and was wondering when do you know it is time to do a Hub Bearing Replacement? I don't have any leaks, or noise, but was wondering if there is a tell tail sign to be looking out for or tests to perform to check the tollerences?

ABS sensor ring fails? (that's inside the hub bearing assembly).

There is an "opening in the outer race of the hub bearing that accommodates the ABS sensor".

It's a pretty tightly seal assembly I think. Dunno if I have read of anyone on the forums here having to replace it outside of catastrophic ABS issues.

Good question.

i just replaced my front left hub/wheel bearing about a month ago. it was 415 plus tax. around hard right turns(on/off sweeping highway ramps) when the weight of the vehicle shifted to that wheel, it growled. and when you grab the top of the tire, and shake it in and out, it should feel light, mine was not, it wobbled and clunked. you could grab the top of the tire and do that even when the weight of the vehicle was on it. mine was an 03 with 96k miles on it
