Where to Buy Front Cover Bolts
I need a 5/16 x 2 1/8 Flange Bolt UNC
and
5/16 x 3
This are a long and a short bolt for the front cover.
I found the long one for $20 and the short one for $11 I think is a little high.
Does anybody know where I can find them for less?
Anybody ?
Many Thanks
I was using a torque wrench from Harbor Freight and it never clicked, guest what I broke the bolt.
When it rains it pours !

You might call these guys and see if this kit will work on Bosch engines or if they have a kit that will
The holes in the block will be the same and I think they use the same water pump but I'm not sure if the covers are the same thickness.

Surely just measure the bolt lengths and get a standard grade 8 caphead allen bolts from an engineering stockists, probably a metric course thread in alu. For the prices you are being quoted you can buy a box full.
There is a motto here somewhere "never use a torque wrench" !
I have 3 and very rarely need to use them as I go by experience/feel apart from mains, big ends and head bolts on alu heads.

yep, gets expensive if you go specific.
Discovery II Engine Oil Pump - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts
i would jot the sizes down and go to a place like Fastenal or even hit up a dismantler....then get only what you have to, in the specific form.

So looking at a gems and bosch engine, it looks like they SHOULD take the same bolts, 5 of FB505171S and 4 of FB505241S.
So in thery that link I posted should work, but it does appear that some of the bolts are different than what the catalog lists. They show 2 1/4 and the catalog shows 2 1/8. I'm not sure if that's a typo or what.
