Replacing Valve Cover Gaskets

Replacing Valve Cover Gaskets
So I called and found out tha getting my valve cover gaskets replaced would cost me 272 w/o parts,(trying to save up for lift and tires, so that kinda sucked) So after finding out from discomikethat it is a relatively easy job, or at least easier than replacing DII's gaskets, i'm going to do it myself. Is there anything else I should do/replace since i'll have the covers off? and do i need to use a sealant on the gaskets? I've already replaced the spark plugs and wires.

RE: Replacing Valve Cover Gaskets
Have to take off the fuel lines on the pass side, and part of the t-body on the driver's side.
Check for sludge while you are in there. If it is really bad, you may want to pull your rocker shafts and clean them. The oil passes down the shaft to lube the rockers.
I put a little sealant on the gasket and stuck it to the cover. I waited for it to set for a few minutes so it wouldn't fall of and then installed. Pretty easy job...
