It's nearing "tire time". BUT ... I want BFG All Terrain T/A's. And they're not made in the size for my 2000 Disco II. So, is there a slightly different sized All Terrain T/A BFG out there that will fit under stock wheel wells, not hit the inside wells, and not throw off the speedo that much ??

And, what size would it be ??

 

What size rim? If 16 inch, the largest you can go stock without rub will be "LT245/75R16E1 120S W" BFG All Terrain T/A KO...

Camdisco24 can pipe in on 18 inch rims...he swears by General Grabber A/t2 (255/60r18)

 

i just tossed on a set of goodyear duratreks on my 04. bought a set of 16" wheels to replace my 18" wheels with street rubber.

i went 265-75 and have no rubbing issues on stock suspension. but you will eventually as the spring sag. i have a lift kit on order as well. but for the next week i can at least drive around town until i install the lift.

i thought about going BFG AT but have had issues with traction with those tires in the wet and cold in my work rig.

BTW, are you still going with OME 2" lift on medium springs? Please take measurements before and after you put the lift on...I'm curious what those numbers will be vs. hilltoppersx's Terrafirma set-up.

 

Yeah still going 2" ome mediums. The terra firma from what i was told is closer to 3" and that would create issues with roof clearance for my garage. I will give you accurate numbers for height before and after.

 

i got 2 1/4" actual lift from the TF +2 kit with HD springs.

Thanks Ed...another question...did the TF +2 kit level out your truck very much? I was thinking of adding a spacer in the front to level it out, but the smallest spacer I can find is 1 inch and I didn't know if it would look right...

 

my truck never had an uneven sag to begin with, it was equally as **** all around. I saw something interesting from Justin over at Lucky 8. I think he put D1 axles on his D2 and used the D1 TF 3" kit. Not sure will see the truck this weekend.

My thing is at some point not sure if its 3”+ lift you begin to lose the whole challenge of off-roading. If there is nothing your truck can’t do it kind of defeats the purpose of going out there in the first place. So I’m going to stick with my 2.25” lift for a while and if anything I will add 1 inch spacers so I can fit bigger tires. The TF kit will get a good workout this weekend on the rocks course.
